Guided HISTORICAL Gold MINING tour

This is a guided tour and requires an online reservation.

Join us for a 3-hour guided group tour at Crow Creek Gold Mine. The first half of the tour is a walking history thru the oldest buildings in the Anchorage Municipality. Our knowledgeable staff will bring the camp to life with stories from the past. You’ll gain a sense of what it was like to live and work during the height of the Gold Rush Era, and how the old mining operation operated.

Upon arrival at the creek, all guests will receive hands-on Gold Panning lessons to ensure that everyone is comfortable with their technique. After everyone is up to speed on their panning methods we introduce the group to basic prospecting methods as well as a brief introduction to what we call “Recreational Gold Mining”.

Anyone can participate in helping us set up and run material through our sluice boxes. Learning how to operate a sluice box is the first step in becoming a successful miner. The Sluice Box also greatly increase our take of gold on the day when compared to just panning.
